3.14.07 - Thoughts of a Filipino in a Peruvian dance troupe ![]() From my start with Peru Profundo, it has been a very exciting ride! Going from not knowing what a festejo is to actually dancing Alcatraz and having my tail burned by a candle was something that I had never expected to do! I've also experienced many different things that I have never tried before. I've performed in front of thousands and have worked together with the company to present wonderful shows full of song, video and poetry! Who knew that I would become Technical Director! I've travelled to Washington D.C. to perform on the nation's front lawn at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival! I've meet Susana Baca! What can I say? I've been very blessed to have spent so much time with everyone and have shared stories, both good and bad. I feel that there's something very unique about being with Peru Profundo Dance Company... it's not just being able to perform, but it's the feeling of being part of a family that makes everying so worthwhile and rewarding! - Ron 2007-03-14 12:41:46 GMT
